For this project, I led the complete setup of a Google Workspace tenant for a nonprofit organization starting from scratch. After verifying their eligibility through TechSoup, I enrolled the organization in the Google for Nonprofits program and activated their Google Workspace for Nonprofits edition. I registered and verified their domain, then configured the Admin Console to establish a secure foundation, including two-factor authentication and recovery protocols for the super admin account.
I structured the organization’s Google Workspace environment by creating user accounts, organizational units, and group aliases tailored to their internal departments and external communications. Email services were configured by setting up Gmail with proper MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to ensure secure and reliable email delivery. I also deployed shared calendars and Google Drive’s shared drives for streamlined collaboration across teams, with custom sharing policies to balance accessibility and data protection.
To complete the rollout, I implemented key security settings such as 2-step verification and access controls, then conducted onboarding and training sessions for staff and volunteers. I delegated admin roles to internal IT personnel and provided documentation to ensure long-term sustainability. This deployment positioned the organization for secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud collaboration.
